How are Alpha for Pets CDs produced?

Each Alpha for Pets CD uses the exclusive Total Mind Audio Technology, a multi-layered audio guidance system using:

-    Binaural Beats and their accompanying harmonic overtones to support whole- brain integration and brainwave frequency states best suited to the purpose at hand.

Customized musical compositions designed in accordance with music therapy principles to increase emotional and logical connections within the brain.

-    Verbal guidance and ambient sounds. Verbal guidance is a powerful medium for relaxation, receptivity and behavior change. Ambient sounds are a powerful tool in supporting visualization practices.

What are Binaural Beats?

Binaural Beats are a naturally-occurring, acoustic "illusion" that is created when two pure tones of slightly different frequencies are simultaneously introduced into each ear. Like an optical illusion, these two frequencies cause the audio logical processing centers of the brain to make the listener imagine that they are hearing one sound that is fluctuating, vibrating, or "beating" - sort of like the sound you hear when a violinist is putting vibrato onto one note they are playing.

Listening to Binaural Beats on their own has a limited capacity to modify brainwave states. When combined with pink sound (see question 3), the effect is enhanced considerably. When the brain hears a combination of pink sound and binaural beats, the brain will begin to follow the frequency combination that is being presented to the ears.

How can I eliminate my pet’s chronic overexcitement or hyperactive behavior?

All pets -- particularly dogs -- have found themselves in an odd predicament by living with humans. In the wild, dogs don’t need humans to achieve balance. They have a pack leader, work for food, and travel with the pack. But when we bring them into our world, we need to help them achieve balance by fulfilling their needs as nature intended them to be.

Why? Pets are animals, and they respond to calm-assertive leadership—not emotional arguments or negotiations. If you have a pet in your life, it is important to understand how to allow him/her to live in a balanced way and achieve a healthy state of mind.

We recommend you devote three evenings to playing our Deep Relax CD quite loud in its entirety, if possible, while you love up, massage, and stroke your pet. In this way your pet will be entrained that the Deep Relax CD is “love” music from their master.

Now you have a new tool in your arsenal to reduce unwanted behaviors triggered by separation anxiety. When you leave each day for work create a soothing musical landscape for your pet to remind them of your deep love and that you haven’t really abandoned them. Pacify a stressed out and anxious pet during a visit to the vet, or groomer, or even for an extended stay at the kennel with your new secret weapon… The Deep Relax CD!

What do I do to re-vitalize my pet who is older or recently seriously ill or operated on?

Create a soothing musical landscape for your pet and immerse them as much as possible into the wonderfully healing music and harmonic overtones on Vitality CD. Your older pet will soon feel a burst of new energy and your pet’s healing will be accelerated.

How long should my pet listen to a CD, and how often?

Both the Deep Relax CD and the Vitality CD are designed to be used on an as-needed basis. In other words, you make your own decision as to when to listen to them, and how often.

Are your CDs backed up with clinical trials and research?

In a word, no. We are a small, privately-owned company that is not a research institute or linked to any healthcare or pharmaceutical organization. Our mandate is to create products using time-tested, proven, safe technologies that have already been demonstrated by those with greater access to testing facilities, and simply expand on them. Our evidence is purely anecdotal coming from the feedback that care-givers give us after using our products. We freely acknowledge that this information would not count as scientific "evidence" and we’re open to anyone with the equipment, knowledge and time to carry out such studies.

I’m interested in becoming a retailer of your products. What do I do?

We’re glad to hear it! Please go to Retailers/Shelters/Rescues section of our website which should answer most of your questions. As we are still a small company, the best way to do it is to send our owner, Jim Phillips, a quick email with your contact details. Add a brief statement as to who and what you are, and what you would like to do with our products within the framework of your existing business.

What is Pink Sound?

White noise is something you hear when, for example, your television is put on to a channel that is not tuned to a station. You see "snow" on your screen and you hear a loud sound that is undefined as to a particular pitch. Like white light being the sum total of all the colors in the visible spectrum, white noise is the sum total of all the available pitches in the audio spectrum.

Pink Sound is essentially the middle band of this spectrum, with the highs and the lows cut out. Pink Sound sounds like a gentle, soft sound that much like a soft hissing, whooshing, or watery sound. Pink Sound has been shown to be far more effective at enhancing the effects of binaural beats than any other sound frequency band.
